Customer Review: No support for military or other Americans abroad
Summary: 1 Stars

If you support the military and foreign services workers abroad please consider this. I am an American who was assigned for work to Africa last year. I bought my ipod and set it up as if I lived in the States as that's my home. I just got re-assigned to Germany. When I tried to use the Ipod on a new PC I found out that Apple will not let me into my account because they can tell I'm in Germany and it's their policy to only let you use your account in the country you live. I therefore have lost the ability to access my Ipod and copy the tunes from it back into itunes. I contacted a friend in the military in Afghanistan and he reports the same for the soldiers stationed there. Apple will not support them either. From the itunes support desk... "Unfortunately if you are unable to access your iTunes Store accounts I will be unable to assist you, as per the Terms of Service agreement, due to the fact that you are outside of the intended geographical area."

Customer Review: Pretty Good
Summary: 4 Stars

First of all, let me tell you all this little Ipod is amazing. The sound is good, it boasts podcasts (similar to radio shows), audiobooks, (Catch up on your reading!) videos, music videos, and TV shows. Thats alot.

It is quite good, but their are some downsides, as all products have.
Downloading movies is expensive, ($20) and is only smart to do if the movie costs more than $20 in movie stores. If you want to get a video, rent it, and if you really like it, buy it in real life. Downloading ANYTHING is really hard to figure out, even for a techie. It is smart to get help from an iPod experienced friend to teach you the basics.
The only other small thing is that scratches and fingerprint sumdges show up A LOT on the screen and back, being a shiny metallic grey.

Besides this, I love my iPod, and it makes quite a hit with teenagers, being a must have for any teenagers living in our generation.

Rock on.

Customer Review: A Great Device
Summary: 5 Stars

I own the 2nd generation nano and my wife wanted one so I bought her the newest verion. For some reason the second generation nano is still for sale at the exact same prices as the third generation ones.

The addition of video is nice, but people who buy a nano instead of a regular ipod really won't care. You won't be watching movies on this thing. The ability to download additional games that are much cooler than what is found on the second generation nano is nice, if you intend to use it for anything other than working out.

This device is bigger than the second generation nano and I am told it doesn't have the tendancy to bend like the longer and narrower second generation nano did, although I have never had that problem with mine.

My biggest fear was using iTunes with two nanos, which has caused me problems in the past. Newer updates have fixed that problem and this is a nice player overall.

Customer Review: WORKS WELL & SOUNDS GREAT

Apple iPod nano 4 GB Silver (3rd Generation)

I purchased the 4 GB version for my Wife. She loved it! It's very simple to operate. For the average user 4 GB is plenty of room for all your favorite songs. Based on her usage so far I think it will easily hold 750-800 songs. However if you download video then it will use the memory much faster.

Pro's
Plenty of memory for most users

Sleek, stylish design

Sounds great

Easy to upload your favorite songs from iTunes

Video resolution is good

Great battery life

Con's
Memory not expandable

Unit has problem of freezing up from time to time. This problem can be quickly resolved by using the reset option to reboot the device. Simply hold the middle button and the top menu button and your ipod will reset.

Small LCD screen.

Customer Review: Yes, a music player can be too small
Summary: 2 Stars

The nano is thin and pretty, and picture quality is amazing, but the device feels too insubstantial. It's so thin and lightweight that it frequently falls from my pocket, and there are no sleeves available yet. Also, the selection wheel is inconsistent - at times, it is so sensitive that it will rocket up the volume or advance to the next song at the slightest touch, and at other times it has to be carefully manipulated to get it to do what you want it to do. I also prefer the set-up that puts the headphone jack at the top - with the jack at the bottom, the device can only be slipped upside down into a shirt or pants pocket.

I wish Apple had made some of the traditional iPods available at smaller sizes (with corresponding price reduction). I liked the feel of my old iPod photo in my hand but don't care to shell out that much money again for a device that only lasts a couple of years.
