I purchased the iPod Nano about 4 months ago and have been very pleased with it. If you have the money, I definately recommend the Nano. I also strongly recommend getting the 2-year replacement plan with it for two reasons...
1. The battery will typically only hold a charge for 12-18 months. It costs something like $80 to replace the battery. Paying the additional $25 is worth it in the long run.(I have a sister that works at BestBuy who advised me of this)
2. My nano quit working after about 3 months. Because I had the replacement plan, I was able to have it replaced for free. I have heard that Nanos will often times do this, so its better to be on the safe side, especially when spending that amount of money.

If you're reading this, you already know how small and sleek the iPod Nano is...a great improvement over hard-disk based mp3 players. It's slim enough to fit in almost any pocket (although remember not to sit on it), and it's light enough to go jogging with.
I've got about 200 songs on my 1GB Nano, which is plenty for me. You can store your photos on it, too, and use the Nano as a photo album (I don't, though, because the screen is too small to get good detail on anything). It also comes with a few simple games and some other features. The controls are very intuitive.
Overall, I highly recommend the Nano.

I take my ipod everywhere - for audiobooks, self hypnosis tracks to use at the acupuncturist's, podcasts, language lessons and Oh Yes! Music.
I have only one complaint (which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars) - some other brands have an audio recorder and I sure wish this one had one! I will probably end up buying another brand of mp3 someday just for that. In fact, I have bought some cheapo mp3 recorders just for that - but they were too junky to bother with. And I don't really trust non-mac-compatible ones.
A recorder built in would fill a real need.

This is a GREAT iPod. A lot of people say that the black iPod scratches up, but if you take care of it and keep it in a case it's all good. Why wouldn't you keep it in a case, there's so many different designs and colors out there. It's hard to resist buying a cover or case. The music quality is AWESOME. It holds 240 songs and can hold photos, too. I'm seriously thinking about updating to a Video iPod, because you get more out of it. This one is just music, excite your life with video too. If you're not a video person though this iPod is perfect for you. GO APPLE!!!Customer Review: Passionately In Love with It.

I can't say enough good things about this product. I think most of the world may agree - this will be one of those legendary products from the start of the 21st century.
It has literally replaced the radio, for me. I just want to hear my I-Pod in the car, at work, at home, at the gym, at the beach, (get the point).
Shame on me for buying the 1 gig which I have outgrown in less than a month. If you are a true music lover of many genres, don't skimp like I did. Save up for those gigs.
I'm hooked and addicted.
