I've had this 160GB iPod for about 3 months. I love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat if anything bad ever happens to it. Mine works perfectly and the ability to carry around well over a thousand albums with near CD quality is quite incredible. Most of the time, I use it with my home stereo system and the sound quality is outstanding.
I haven't had the problems some other users complain of. I can quickly navigate the menu, the cover-flow works just fine, it plays movies with no problems...
I'm not saying it can't be improved since that would be totally foolish. But I am saying that I think it is by far the best product of it's kind in today's market!
Customer Review: Songs are messed up!!

I have had this ipod for 2 days. I put all of my songs on my ipod. They were in itunes, and worked on my ipod today for about 30 minutes when I had it on shuffle. I took shuffle off, and went to an individual song. The ipod "thought" for about 10 seconds before skipping to the next song. This happened with every song that I tried. I put it back on shuffle, and it did the same things...my songs will not play!!! I upgraded from a 60gb ipod to a 160gb. The 60gb gave me a TON of problems (i.e. froze up ALL the time, etc.) I thought buying a 160 would change that, but it hasn't. At least with the 60, it took awhile before all of the problems started.Customer Review: Piece of iGarbage

Like many of the reviewers, iFind this product to be iNother piece of Steve Jobs' garbage. Apple sucks when it comes to making hardware (and software for that matter). This particular, silver/white piece of iGarbage iFroze after iFew months and could not be restored. It is the second iPod (over 80 gigs) that has done that to me. iHave now learned my lesson to NOT buy Apple hardware garbage anymore.
iTunes is decent enough, iSuppose --- but iRecommend downloading music from [...] (88 cents per download) or Amazon.com and getting iBetter piece of hardware (not Apple).
Remember: don't believe the iPe. Apple sucks.

I have waited to purchase an iPod - why, I am not sure. But I will say this: what took me so long? It is easy to use, easy to download to...not to mention my new found love of podcasts.
BE AWARE THOUGH: There are certain video formats that are not compatible with this iPod - so if that is a necessity, do your homework (I am disappointed in that, but I had no clue what to buy so shame on me for not being more diligent in my research).
If you have a need for immense amounts of music...or if you are a podcast freak like me - this iPod will do the trick!
Customer Review: Avoid - randomly pauses in the middle of songs - no solution from Apple

The subject summarizes it. We'll be grooving to a song, when all of a sudden the music stops for 2 to 10 seconds. It's very random - it can go 5 straight hours without pausing and then do it on 3 songs in a row. Replay the songs that it skips on, and it works fine. Hundreds of owners of this same model have this problem (do a Google search) and Apple hasn't solved any. They say all hard drive-based MP3 players do it. Well, I've had a hard drive-based Creative for 3 years and a 120 gb Zune for the past 6 months and they NEVER paused in the middle of a song.
