Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPod classic 160 GB Silver (6th Generation) OLD MODELCustomer Review: LOVE the Apple 160 GB iPod !! Summary: 5 Stars
160 Gigabytes is JUST what I needed. I have gone through the 30, 60, 80 GB Video models and maxed each out with songs in short order.
I have 18,500+ songs in iTunes and needed 'room' for PodCasts and movies. THIS was just what I needed.
AND . . I practically STOLE it. Free shipping, no sales tax and $50 in Amazon gift certificates (Amazon VISA card).I paid LOTS less for this than each of the smaller ones purchased over the last two years.
I am very impressed that the engineers made it the same size (or slightly smaller) than the one that holds 1/2 the data.
The 'display' takes a little getting used to, as it 'shows' a little differently than the other 3 I own.
All in all .. this was an EXCELLENT purchase and I LOVE it. Amazon rocks !!Can't wait for my next $25 gift certificate!!
Customer Review: I love this thing Summary: 5 Stars
This is iPod #2 for me. I'm one of those people who likes to have *way* too much music at hand at all times. I filled up my 60Gig iPod, so I gave it to my wife, who has about 3 CDs she likes, and moved up to this thing. I use the video function very rarely, but it *is* nice to take a movie along for long layovers in the airport or to have instead of renting a movie in a hotel. I mainly listen to the iPod when I walk to work, or in the gym. I hate going to the gym, so an audiobook on iPod makes that experience much better. I'm very pleased with this iPod. I use Sony ELP828 earbuds rather than the ones that came with it because a)I don't want advertise to the world that I've got an iPod, and b)They're really good and not terribly expensive (I have a cat that thinks they're food). Be sure to buy a good case with a belt clip.
Customer Review: Nice upgrades from 5G Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this as a replacement for my 5G 60GB Video that was stolen at the YMCA. The upgraded interface is a nice refresh from the old one. There was nothing wrong with the old 5G interface - just that the enhancements of the 6G are a bit cooler. The cover-page flip setting is pretty useless if you ask me. On a 160GB iPod where most people have thousands of songs, it would take forever to scroll through to find what you want. Plus, about half of the cover pages are blank so unless you have all of the cover graphic files on your iTunes it really is not very helpful. The bonus is that you can turn this feature off. So far I think the sound is on par with the old 5G. The sound variation between songs usually equates more to the quality of the file, rather than the iPod itself. Sounds good on my Apple Hi-Fi too.
Customer Review: Powerhouse Stunner. Summary: 5 Stars
You know how it sucks when you fill up your ipod? You have to start deleting music and prioritizing. What do I really want to have on my Ipod? What can just be on Itunes... Then after a while your Itunes is getting pretty fat and you are stressing over hard drive space and you just wanna chuck it all in the trash. Well feel the joy of liberation when you sync your bulbous bulging Itunes with this 160g slab and watch it barely register on the capacity bar. You have got to have an insane music collection to fill this baby up. The silver one is quite striking, blending beautifully with the Itunes interface. It is thinner at 160 than my 30 video. So if you want the mothership Ipod that can hold everything and be the music master hub of your system, get this baby and download senuti. You will be good to go.
Customer Review: I can't imagine buying any other mp3 device Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this 160 GB ipod two years ago, and this thing is just a tank. It never fails and I use it every single day of my life. I seriously wouldn't understand anyone ever buying an mp3 device that isn't called "iPod". I measure a purchase in its ability to innovate, and to last for a very long time under heavy usage. I have hauled this thing to work, school, clubs, restaurants, and friends houses while dropping it, sitting on it, and jogging with it down the street. It still starts every day without a hitch, and mocks me and my inadvertent attempts to slow its never-ending production and execution. Seriously, why would you consider anything else? If you have a huge music collection as I do, nothing else substitutes for this 160 GB model. Mp3 perfection.
