This is the true Apple power adapter for the iPod Touch and similar items. It is compact, works well, and like all Apple products, looks distinctive. Apple sells these for $29, which seems like a lot of money for a simple device. However, it works smoothly, and seems unlikely to fry your device. The price from Amazon has varied notably. I bought it a few days ago for about $12 ($18 with shipping) from a 3rd party vendor, but the price has gone up considerably. At least now it's directly from Amazon and eligible for prime shipping. Another reviewer stated that the device comes with a USB cable when purchased from Apple, but that's now how I saw it sold in the Apple store. There, you just get the charger. I had recently lost the USB Adapter and cable; therefore, I had bought this as a replacement. At first I was reluctant to buy one due to the many reviews stating the cheap imitations online. I purchased this product directly through Amazon and received an original USB adapter. I was surprised to discover a NEW CABLE comes with the adapter additionally. I must have not read the product description correctly because I thought I was only purchasing the USB adapter.
If you are having doubts, just buy the product directly from Amazon and not through the other retailers offferred through Amazon. You will not be disappointed.

I got the product that was advertised - an Apple USB Power Adapter. No cable, but there wasn't one listed in the product description so I wasn't really expecting one. The product came sealed in a plastic bag, but it had smudges on it, kind of like what would be left on your hands after using glue for a while. I suppose it could be new, but it makes me wonder. It did not come in Apple packaging and it did not come with a USB cable. I guess that's what you get when trying to pay less. At least I had two USB cables already.
UPDATE - on re-reading the product description it does say a cable comes in the box. I don't know if I should pursue this with the vendor or just be happy that I already had 2 cables to use.

I had found many iPod wall chargers on amazon, but was happy to find a "genuine" Apple product. DO not be fooled though! This product is not an apple product. Other walk chargers on amazon were much cheaper than this one, but I bought this charged because of the apple name. I was ripped off, and will never buy from this seller again. Though the charger works, there is always a chance it will ruin my iPod touch since it is not a true apple product . While the picture the seller posted looks exactly like the one on the Apple website, it is merely a scheme, and the one I received in the mail looks nothing like it. Don't buy this product. You will receive the same thing if you buy the .01$ ones off other users on amazon .Customer Review: Real thing, works great!

I bought this from Safari Cellular. I am pretty sure it is a fake made by someone who knows how to spell AND can make a device that works perfectly every time. This one is fast. At least it is fast compared to my computer's USB. My sister and I both have iPods and we both use the same computer for iTunes, so we have my cable on the charger and use her's to sync the devices. That works really well.
The dedicated charger works really well because it charges when you plug it in. Maybe i did it wrong, but there were a few things you had to do to get the Nano to charge on the computer, with this, everything just works.
I am very pleased. "JK recommends!"
