Customer Review: Simple Adapter, no frills, just plug & play

This is exactly how its described. A adapter to convert USB input into something that can be plugged in.
I don't see how the past reviewers said there is no cable. Well, of course not! Even apple store doesn't send a cable with this product. Its just a Adapter! Most likely you would have the cable that came with your ipod!
Also, make sure you are getting the green dot version. The non-green version was recalled by Apple and if you get it, I think you still can get a replacement from Apple (search online for the form), but I'm not sure.
The one thing I want to write is that weather or not you get the Apple branded adapter, just know that any adapter would work. Yes, even a $2 one! You just have to make sure the output is 5v or some of the newer iPods won't charge (e.g. Touch 2g). Yes, it takes more knowledge by the user to know what input/outputs are required by the adapter, but at least you aren't getting taken by buying a Apple branded $20 accessory that should only cost $2.
That being said, this is the apple version, and works as described. Don't expect more than a simple adapter and you won't be disappointed.
Customer Review: Compact, Fast Charging but expensive

Ive got to say this charger is extremly compact and charges my 3rd generation ipod touch very fast. But...I guess it all comes at a price. I ended up paying $35 for mine plus tax. Thats really expensive for just an ordinary wall charger. Keep in mind it also comes with the usb sync cable. I think if you can get this charger for about $25 or cheaper its not a bad deal. Also the sync cable is fairly short. I have to use my charger with a extension cord in order to really be able to use it. Some thing apple should have thought about and made the cord longer especially at such a hefty price. I know you can probalby use other branded chargers. But I have heard so many stories and didnt want to take any risks. So to be on the safe side get a apple one, just dont pay an arm and a leg for it. Acually if you look at it apple should include the charger with all ipods now. Who has the time to use the usb sync cable and charge your ipod with your computer. On top of that your computer has to be on to charge which means not even in sleep mode and since its usb charging it takes much longer then the wall charger.Customer Review: A little pricey but it works

I purchased this for those times when I want to recharge my 2gen iPod Touch and don't have my laptop with me (or its battery is low!). It works exactly as described. I think many of the negative reviews come from customers who purchased from a third party seller. I purchased mine direct from Amazon and had no issue. The extra cord was included even though I wasn't expecting it since the Touch has a cord. It is nice to have two so I can keep one with the laptop and one in my luggage.
The charger works pretty quick and I am able to use the Touch while it is charging. The only quirk I found was I wish the cord was longer so it can reach an outlet more easily. Some outlets are blocked by furniture, but that is a minor quibble.
Overall, the product does what is advertises and is simple to use. I think it is overpriced for what it is, but I feel that way about many Apple accessories. However, I prefer to spend a little more on a name brand I trust than a "clone" product that may or may not work. Recommended.
Customer Review: I'm glad the prongs don't fold down

The previous Apple power adapters I've had came with the prongs that fold down into the adapter, and I hated them because I always had issues with them. They seemed prone to longevity problems within the first few months of owning them.
Not so with this Apple power adapter I got for my iPod Touch (1st gen). Its prongs are fixed and that's a plus for me. I purchased this because I was having problems charging my iPod Touch on my iMac... either it wouldn't charge, or sometimes it would even be drained further by the time I came back to check on it. I tried fiddling with the power/sleep settings to see if that helped, to no avail.
I'm very pleased with this adapter as it does what it claims it'll do: Charge my iPod Touch. No, the cord that comes with it isn't long enough for me to have it plugged into the wall and play my iPod Touch games at the same time, but my Touch is charged quickly enough that I can do without it until it's charged.
No problems so far, so I'm happy.
Customer Review: Not as advertised! Buyer beware!

Everyone buying one of these should know that Apple issued a recall on these adapters in Sept '08 because the prongs can potentially snap off in your wall outlet, causing the risk of electric shock (if you have someone not smart enough to know they shouldn't touch any exposed metal sticking out of a wall outlet before shutting off the circuit breaker).
It may depend on the Amazon "merchant" that you buy this item from, but the one I bought from called "Cellular Freeks" sent me the recalled adapter, not the new one which has a green dot on it to indicate it's the newest model from Apple. The product pictured here has the green dot on it. The one sent to me does not. It also does not have the tapered prongs like the one in the picture (the other noticeable difference between the recalled vs new model).
It seems to work well with my iPod Touch, but I'm still only giving one star because it's the RECALLED ADAPTER!! These should have been removed from their shelves over a year ago!
