Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple Nike + iPod Sport Kit for iPod nano 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, iPod touch 1G, 2G, 3G (OLD VERSION)

Customer Review: Great after calibration!
Summary: 4 Stars

Make sure you calibrate, no matter how hard they try to convince you that you can use it straight out of the box! It was severely underestimating my mileage, and giving me a pace far greater than I can do right now.

Since calibrating, it has been a wonderful tool in keeping me running. I'm just picking up running again, and I find it exciting to see when I cut a few seconds off my mile. The web page is a pretty neat tool to use for tracking runs as well. I would recommend it for people such as myself, who need a little push to keep going!

Customer Review: Great Motivator
Summary: 5 Stars

Since I bought this device my motivation to run is off the chart! It is so wicked cool and fun to use.
I was not a passionate runner before, but now I can't wait to get out there and run if only to hear Lance Armstrong tell me how wonderful I am. On nights I don't feel like a long run, I'll set the 2 mile distance and go until she tells me to stop. It's just so simple and easy to use. I have not had trouble with accuracy but I don't go past 5K distance.

For Walkers: this is so much easier to use than a cheap pedometer.

Customer Review: Won't go the distance
Summary: 1 Stars

This product may be fine if it is actually inserted beneath the insole of Nike shoes. However, I've tried it in the Marware sportsuit sensor case (basically, a shoe pouch that attaches to the shoelaces), and it is all out of whack in terms of calibrating distance...which in turn throws off the calculations for pace and calories burned. I checked out Apple's website and found at least a dozen other people who had had similar problems, even after calibrating the device. As far as I could tell, no one had found a solution to the problem.

Customer Review: Very Convenient
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned this product for a few months now. It was incredibly easy to use. I have Saucany running shoes, not Nike. I was able to just insert the sensor underneath the tounge of my shoe without buying the 3rd party pouch. I would reccommend calibrating the device, although it is pretty accurate out of the box for average height runners. My favorite part is being able to press the iPod button at any time and have the device tell me my current pace. I have found my runnnig has become more focused and a lot more fun.

Customer Review: Simply Works
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife uses the iPod Sport Kit, and simply put, it works. For her, its an incredibly motivating device. The integration with the website works great, and it helps her to set and monitor her weekly running targets. She was not a serious runner before this, but not she runs 10-15 miles per week.

Some people find the motivating comments from Lance Armstrong cheesy, but she likes it, especially any of the milestones that she hits.

We like it so much, we buy it for our friends who have Nano's.
