Customer Review: Best mouse ever
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been using this mouse for years, and it's perfect. Once you've used the scroll ball for a while, you won't want to go back to any ordinary scroll wheel. The mouse is nice and portable, perfect for laptop use. Most wireless mouses still use USB dongles instead of Bluetooth.

The mouse does take some getting used to. In particular, you have to make sure that you aren't touching the left half of the mouse when you right-click, since it's really just one button; it electrically senses where your fingers are. (You might also have to modify your system preferences.) This may sound absurdly complicated, but consider where Apple is coming from: They have hordes of devout, life-long one-button mouse users, while they also have people like us who demand right-click functionality. The Mighty Mouse is an ingenious gadget that should make everyone happy.

The wireless model is expensive, but worth it. It's an improvement on the wired variety in every way.

Customer Review: Cool Looking but Clumsy
Summary: 2 Stars

Good: The trackball - this is the best feature of the mouse. Cool looking when it's just sitting there next to your computer - people will comment how nice it looks, if that's important to you.

Bad: Very clumsy to handle. In the interest of full disclosure, I am a long time Windows/PC/two-button mouse guy, recently bought an iMac. This mouse is advertised as "touch sensitive", giving you two-button features in a minimalist one-button form factor. However, the actual experience using the right click on this thing is frustrating. It is not quick and easy like an actual two-button mouse. Also, I find the tracking of the mouse somewhat slow to respond and imprecise. When I try to select video clips in iMovie, or do picture editing in iPhoto, it is often difficult to aim and shoot the way I want to. I am considering a replacement because of this. Even the long time Mac addicts I know who use Macs professionally don't like this mouse mainly for this reason.

Customer Review: Beware! No warranty or support.
Summary: 2 Stars

I loved my Mighty Mouse for the first few months. The only issue I had was that the batteries seemed to need replacing more often than with my Logitech wireless mouse. Then came the day when my mouse stopped working -- the arrow would jump all over the page and there would be random instances of scrolling. Annoying enough if you're just browsing websites but if you're trying to get any graphics work done...forget about it. I was astonished to learn that the Mighty Mouse has no support from Apple. There are several articles that tell you how to clean the scroll ball (apparently quite the issue!) but none that prompt you to do anything else, i.e. getting it replaced. I understand that products stop working from time to time. But, when you spend $100 on a mouse you expect it to last more than a few months. Logitech, for example, offers great customer support and will replace a faulty product. I won't be buying anymore peripheral products made by Apple.

Customer Review: Unreliable!!
Summary: 1 Stars

1. the right click on it? yeah right! you have to use your pinky and press in the corner of the mouse.
2. the side buttons are hardly convenient. if you have to take your hand off the mouse to use the buttons i dont see a point in it.
3. if have anything more than a piece of paper at the edge of the mouse you cant click down
4. the bottom panel likes to come off a lot if you pick up the mouse.... Read More
5. the tiny scroll ball is inconsistent with the speed of how it scrolls. when gaming with it, you barely bump the ball and the mouse will recognize it as moving a lot.
6-10. the connection in it is far from flawless. the connection will cut out on it for no reason then just as you start getting really pissed, it starts working again.

i resisted chucking it too many times when it stopped working but when it cut out 3 times in about 5 min... i couldnt take it.

Customer Review: Great mouse, with a few minor problems.
Summary: 4 Stars

All in all, I'm very satisfied with this mouse. I did have a problem however. After about 6 months, it got dirty enough that the up scroll stopped working. I've found this to happen in one other mighty mouse as well. It's close to impossible to open it up and clean it without breaking something if you don't know what you're doing. But I did it, and now it works fine. I expect I'll have to clean it again in the future.

There is a right click, as opposed to what some may say, you just have to change the preferences for the right click on your mac. Yes, the right click does only work about 95% of the time, but the sleek look of the mouse and scrolling feature make up for it. I love how you can not only scroll up and down but side to side. I also love the expose buttons on the sides. Very handy. As well as the dashboard button on the scroll ball. Altogether great mouse that looks awesome too.
