Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple Mighty Mouse Wireless KitCustomer Review: Piece of Junk! Summary: 1 Stars
I have had my iMac and Mighty Mouse for 2 years and have returrned/replaced my Apple Mighty Mouse 7 times. Luckily, I have the extended warranty on the Mac so the mouse is covered.
The mouse quits working for a variety of reasons. The scrolling issue is fixable sometimes, not others with alchohol.
The mouse jus dies or burns through batteries at the rate of two every two weeks.
Considering it's next to impossible to use an iMac when the mouse fails, it's a bad point of failure.
Compared to the rest of the computer, it's amazing they haven't redesigned this piece of junk by now.
Get either the corded mouse or another brand....
Customer Review: No Way To Clean Mouse Ball Summary: 2 Stars
Worked great the first year and a half then I started having problems.
1) If you don't turn it off it "eats" batteries (always was a problem)
2) The bottom "bumper" fell off (after 1.5 years) and remained loose even though I tried to "fix it" many times
3) The trackball is impossible to clean (biggest problem and inherent design flaw)
Finally last night the track ball just stopped working altogether. I tried everything but there is no way to get that ball out.
You have to be able to clean the track ball coz it gets greasey/oily and then it loses its "grip". And Apple provide NO WAY TO CLEAN IT!!!!
I would not buy this product again.
Customer Review: Love my mouse! Summary: 5 Stars
The wireless Mighty Mouse is awesome! I always use this with my MacBook and find it to be well worth the money. I've owned it for more than a year now, and it seems to use battery power fairly sparingly. The only problem I've had with it is that a couple of times the roller sticks and you are unable to scroll up or down or both directions. I've solved the problem by following Apple's recommendation: turn the mouse upside down and roll the roller over a wet cloth several times. You have to press down fairly hard, but it seems to clean what needs cleaning and then it works just fine. Bluetooth is easy to set up, too. I really can't imagine using my laptop without my wireless Mighty Mouse.
Customer Review: Brilliant... until it breaks Summary: 4 Stars
The Apple Mighty mouse (in both USB and wireless formats) is a worthy contender for the best mouse ever made. In particular, its tiny hyper-sensitive vertical & horizontal scroll button genuinely speeds up on-screen "productivity" to a level that, once you've got used to it, nothing else will do. Brilliant, that is until the scroll button stops working which in my case is about every 9 to 12 months. Bad news then... well yes, no piece of kit should do this, but right or wrong that's the way it is and when it happens I happily shell-out for a new one because it's that good to use. Look on it as the world's best and most expensive disposable mouse and you may not be too disappointed...
Customer Review: Needs to be improved. Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this upon recommendation from a friend. He mentioned that he tried another mouse and keyboard and I should just get the apple wireless products, as that is what he ended up with. (I should have known better as I saw him have problems with his mouse while at his house) I love the keyboard, but this mouse is an overpriced piece of crap.
I love bluetooth mice, I use a Logitech M-RBB93 at work on a PC and it works excellent. The Mighty Mouse is not comfortable, and the scroll ball does not work well. It needs to be cleaned every month or so, and even then it doesnt consistently scroll left and right. I do not have much positive information to provide about this mouse.
