Got one of these with my second mac. And it's the second mac I've had with a power cord that frays and melts down. the magnasafe connection is a fantastic advance, but I don't understand why Apple has such a difficult time making power cords... i see that there is the option to make a video review, looking forward to filming the smuldering remnants of my power cord so that you can all share in the misery of second rate technology.Customer Review: Stay Away from this thing

This thing is totally worthless. The charging light comes on when I attached it to my Macbook but that was all it did. It did not charge the battery or provide enough power to boot it up. When I took it to the Apple Store, the "genius" plugged this charger into his in the store machine & the battery charging icon was showing zero. The shipping was fast and reliable. The product was fine except that if you want to be able to use your extension cord with the charger, this won't be possible, as the two pieces won't fit together. The connector piece that slides in to fit with the extension cord is plastic as opposed to metal (i noticed it was metal on my previous charger that came with my Macbook), so it doesn't work. I use this extra one as a spare.. call me lazy, but one or two extra so you can keep one at the office, one bedside, one at your desk, makes owning multiples of this item convenient. Apple had some great innovation with this product with the magnet breakaway system! Never again will you trip and drag your computer. it's build in led light also allows you to see if your charging or full, with effortless decisiveness.Customer Review: Dont buy this Adapter

this is not and apple product although the image has the symbol of an "apple" on it.
the adapter worked for approximately 15 days then no longer was capable of charging the battery for the computer.
At the time of purchase I referred 2 other parents to the product and they also had similar outcomes.
Horrible product, dont be fooled...Save your money and just buy the original.
