Customer Review: As good as Apple's own, at a better price

Got one of these to replace my dead Apple battery. Works great. 4+ hours of battery life out of the box. Absolutely no issues. It just works.
One very minor note: the color of the battery does not exactly match the Macbook Pro. Not a big deal. Nobody is looking AT the battery.
Other thoughts: The battery works so well, a friend of mine got one for his Macbook Pro and he's seeing the same great performance. For the excellent price, this battery is unbeatable.
Update: After three months of use, still seeing nearly the same performance. Routinely 3.5 hours on a full charge. Some small decrease from heavy use but right where it should be. No issues. Nothing to note at all. My friend with the same battery is also seeing very similar results. So, I continue to give it five stars. Will update again in three more months.

The battery works. No question there. It has a longer life than our 3-year-old battery, that was down to about an hour and a half. Now we're up to about 4.5 hours, which is less than I was hoping for (as our previous battery started at about 6 hours). I guess my brain's thinking that technology is greater and advances faster than it actually does. The computer's still hot, though. Really hot. Burn-your-hand-if-you-touch-the-bottom-of-the-computer hot. And I wasn't expecting that. Or maybe I should've, since our previous battery wasn't a recalled one, so why would I expect this one would be any cooler? Maybe my complaint is off-base and it's the computer that's so fiery, not the battery. Regardless, I hope Apple has made progress since this MacBook Pro, which I love except for the temperatures it generates.Customer Review: Good product, with the expected performance

After a 400+ cycles old original battery (2 years old, 10% health,only 10-15 minutes battery life! ) I had to purchase this item as a replacement... And of course, it's working really good. I use the Istat in Dashboard to monitor the statistics, still 100% health after 7 cycles. I'm sure it will last over 300 cycles, just like the original one. I just try to follow some few rules found in apple website or in the forums: Cycle the battery every 2 months (Keep at least 2 hours in full charge, then run the computer until the battery is completely dead, turn off for 5 hours, recharge completely again), use the computer plugged whenever possible, and keep the "better battery life settings" in the energy saver preference panel. Absolutely no problem with Apple batteries. As far as I know, Apple's computer warranty on batteries does not extend beyond one year. The same is the case with Dell, despite the fact that the warranty on the computer is 3-5 years. Batteries can be abused just by not knowing how to take care of them. My 2007 15" MBP battery lasted a little more than 2 years. I monitored its slow decline with the free Coconut utility and bought the replacement in advance of it going completely dead. So far (1 year) the new battery is just fine and holds its charge well. Use the battery often (I run mine down twice a day on business days) and don't let it go below 20% very often. Unless you are very new to the game, you know what you are getting. This is a MacBook Pro battery. It does exactly what you'd think it would do. It powers the machine up. With luck, I get two to three hours of life before I plug it in again. Mine lasts two years. Then, I buy another one. Complaining that it should be something else doesn't increase its playtime or lifetime. I'll take this machine, even with this battery, over any other non-Mac computer, and most Mac computers, any time. It runs hot (which can't help the battery), but it's true, durable, reliable, and paid for. If there's a better battery out there now, buy it. Otherwise, this for for 80 bucks runs the machine well enough.
