Customer Review: Good Mouse Poor Scroll Ball
Summary: 4 Stars

I own two of these and in very short order I had problems with the scroll balls on both. Eventually both only scrolled in one direction or not at all. I was about to toss both of them into the trash when I read a review that suggested cleaning them with rubbing alcohol. I put a couple of drops of Isopropyl Alcohol 91% on the tip of my finger and rolled the ball around for a while. To my delight I began to see dirt being deposited onto the top of the mouse which was immediately wiped off. After a couple of applications of the alcohol both "mice" work perfectly and the alcohol works well for cleaning the rest of the mouse, though I did not try it on the lens. It would be nice if the tracking could be made to go faster (yes I already set it to the fastest setting inside system preferences).

Customer Review: Stick to a real mouse
Summary: 2 Stars

I got this mouse with my new Mac. It's uncomfortable, and it seems quite a bit larger than the Logitech mouse I normally use. Right-clicking is a matter of luck with this mouse, about 25% of the time it won't recogize a right-click no matter how you position your finger.

The squeeze feature is awkward, and the side buttons require quite a bit of force to activate. You won't be just clicking one with your thumb alone as might seem natural, you *must* have a finger on the other side of the mouse to counteract the pressure.

The battery door on the wireless version is pretty flimsy and will pop open just about anytime you try to turn the mouse off.

It's not the worst mouse in the world, but it certainly isn't a great one. Mostly it's just gimmick-y.

Customer Review: Nice look & hand feel but otherwise bad design
Summary: 3 Stars

The mouse looks great and feels good in the hand, but there are several design flaws, which are serious if you are used to 3-button work.

1. Right-clicking is imprecise.
2. The scroll ball is flimsy. Up-down works well, left-right only intermittently. (I have been lucky with being able to clean the scroll ball so far -- running it upside-down over paper.)
3. The middle-click (on the scroll ball) is impossible without scrolling at the same time.
4. The batteries are hard to extract. (There is no recharging station setup, of course.)
5. There is only one additional button (the side bar).

Functionally, my old Logitech mouse was much better -- but I do like the look of this one better. Can't there be good looks with brains, too?

Customer Review: great mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

this is a great mouse. too many people don't appreciate this mouse. first off, people are whining about the right click, i too have noticed it doesn't work just perfectly, but honestly, i have never found a need for a right click on a mac, will someone explain what is so great about a right click? you can perform the same function by simply holding down on the left button. as for the side button, people think they're too hard to push! it's sad to see humanity become sooo weak and lazy!! you've GOT to be kidding about the side buttons being too hard to click! and someone else here said it was "too heavy" ?? come on people, suck it up, i know you can handle carrying a mouse that weighs a few ounces! this mouse is great, don't listen to the weaklings who can't handle it.

Customer Review: Not a bad mouse but might be better ones for Mac
Summary: 3 Stars

Not a bad mouse. I've used it on a MacPro, the MacBook pro, and the new iMac. It feels OK and do like the small scroll ball. I found no problem with right clicking. On the down side, it isn't has reponsive as the higher resolution MX 1000 laser mouse and there is a design flaw that occasionally causes the bottom of the door that holds the batteries which results in the batteries flying out on your desk or work area. Some have mentioned "Steermouse" driver but all fail to mention it is $20 more making this mouse close to a $100. Overall, I would recommend something like the MX 1000 which is more responsive although it is not bluetooth but is rechargeable unlike the Apple MM. I think the Apple MM is a good choice if you want a mouse for PS3 (it does work with it).
