Customer Review: Get used to it very quickly
Summary: 5 Stars

Like many of the five star reviewers for this product it took me a little bit of time to get used to this keyboard.

Having spent hundreds to thousands of hours typing on my traditionally favourite type of keyboard (one with deep keys), it definitely took quite a bit of getting used to.

I had almost resolved to put this in the spares box before deciding to try type up a few articles to try adjust to it. Within a few hours things were getting better and as I type this, after two days' use, I don't think I could go back to typing on the more conventional type of keyboard.

Once you get used to the very soft keys, which are much more shallow than traditional ones, and manage to get your speed back up to what it was on previous keyboard, and faster, you'll appreciate that this is a much better keyboard design. Not only that, but as previous reviewers have noted, the typing fatigue is greatly reduced, if not entirely eliminated.

To anyone who's just bought this product, please stick with it for a few days before you decide what to do with it; you won't be disappointed!

Customer Review: very pleasant to use

sometimes the best results happen by accident. in my case, the accident was spilling a drink in my old g5's keyboard, which killed it and put me into the market for a new one. after a little shopping around, i settled on the new bluetooth wireless keyboard from apple...which nobody has in stock yet. much as i didn't want to buy this wired keyboard just to use it for a month while waiting for the wireless, i couldn't let my mac sit idle for that time either. oh well, i bit the bullet and bought it. just as well, it's the best keyboard i've owned in 25 years of computer ownership. yes, it is that good. the aluminum body gives it a nice, stiff feel. it's very quiet, but there's good feedback so you know when you've hit a key. the thinness and flatter keys put the keyboard at a good angle for typing, so my hands don't get tired. and eventually it will make for an excellent full sized portable keyboard for the kids' laptop. because i still want that wireless keyboard for my own use, now more than ever. :)

i've also had no problems using it with os x 10.3.9, even though it "requires" os x 10.4.10.

Customer Review: I love this keyboard!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

First off this review is from a pc owner. I dont have alot of experience with Apple products. I went to the Apple store hoping to purchase an Apple TV. While the salesperson was getting my Apple TV I roamed the store and noticed this keyboard hooked up to all the Apple computers. I played around with one and found at first it was pretty difficult to get comfortable using the keyboard. Then after getting the hang of it I loved it!! The keys are so easy on the fingers and the way the keyboard is low and flat on your desk makes for a better typing experience.

I have not had any problems with the keys like the previous reviewer. They all work just fine. Since I am on a pc I asked the salesperson if it would work with a PC and he said it should but was not sure. Some of the function buttons will not work on a pc but that is a small trade off for this great keyboard. The usb ports will also not work on my pc. I tried hooking up my ipod touch and they just dont have enough power.

Simply put this is a great keyboard and I consider it a must buy if you are in the market for a new one.

Customer Review: It's so long I made it walk the plank that it is
Summary: 1 Stars

Unfortunately this keyboard is too wide for general use. It is wider than perhaps any keyboard on the market. I am a tall guy with long arms, but even for me I couldn't find the space on my desk to comfortably use this. The problem is that all the QWERTY keys are on the left, whilst a third of the right-hand side is taken up by the cursors and numeric keypad. Somehow Apple have managed to make this take up much more space than other manufacturers achieve.

The upshot is that your mouse on the right keeps bumping into the edge of the keyboard. So, you move the keyboard further left - but that's no good, now the QWERTY keys are way off-centre to your display screen. So you move the keyboard further right - oh no, now the mouse is bumping again - so you move the mouse further right - but that's no good as it's further than you naturally ever want to stretch your arm.

There is no comfortable way to use this keyboard. It looks lovely, but is simply unworkable. I hope Apple will conduct more user testing before releasing their next - hopefully shorter - full corded keyboard.

Customer Review: Excellent feel
Summary: 5 Stars

It's all about the click. I've been using IBM keyboard for a long time because I like the feel of it's sureness clicks. This Apple keyboard feels like combination of IBM keyboard and notebook keyboard. The good thing is it less noisy than regular cube keys keyboards and the assurance of click is superb.

The low profile and minimalist design really help to open the area of this keyboard, so you'll find some areas that are intimidating and less useful on regular keyboard such page up/page down, home/end and delete become more exposed and useful in this keyboard.

The key's surface is totally flat proves that you don't need the concave surface for you finger to stick on it but the material has more frictions than regular keyboards helps fingers on the right place.
Another thing is, this keyboard doesn't have numlock button which first I found a little annoying since I usually use the keypad number buttons but the arrow keypad is normally accessible and easy to use. Well it's minimalist so why make redundant things. Additional f13 - f19 is functional too.
