Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Anycom Inc CC3141 Anycom BTM-100 Bluetooth Mobile Mouse with usb ChargeCustomer Review: Small but stylish. Works easily with Mac Tiger Summary: 5 Stars
I chose this one b/c I wanted a mouse that was Bluetooth and rechargeable. I also like the idea of charging thru the USB port - 1 fewer adaptor to carry around. I got the mouse this afternoon, and finished the first charging just now, maybe 6 hours later. So, I can't talk about battery life or durability, but I'll tell my first impressions.
I got it in red. It's nice, a dark satin red with a silver streak. I like.
It took longer to get it out of the packaging than to pair it to my iBook system 10.4. Nothing to install, no hassles. Both buttons and scroll wheel work perfect.
The charger plugs into a USB port and connects to the mouse very securely. The one flaw is that when connected the wire is on the back of the mouse (to user's wrist, not fingertips) and so is in the way a bit. The mouse works while charging, which is nice.
Response is sharp. I detect no lag time. It works quickly / immediately upon the computer waking up from sleep or from the mouse being turned off. The off switch is a good thing, and solidly made - unlike the Macally mouse I had before this.
As for usability, I would NOT want it for my full-time regular mouse. It's small. Maybe it's smaller than it looks - it has a teardrop shape that is fairly long, but skinny that doesn't leave much to grab hold of or rest your hand on. I have average sized hands, and notice its lack of size. It's not bad. I can easily use it, and as I got it for portability, the small size is appealing. This isn't a fault; it's a trade-off. If you have large hands or plan to use it constantly, I recommend you check the fit first.
It comes with a little cloth bag with 2 comprtments (charger and mouse, presumably). It's not super, but will probably keep the mouse from some scratches and so on.
A final note, it comes with rechargeable batteries. The batteries are rated at 600 mah, which I think is about 1/2 the capacity of new swanky batteries, so one could easily about double the battery life by upgrading and keeping the ones that came as a spare set. It's a bit challenging to get the battery cover off, tho, so swapping all the time would be a drag.
Over all, I'm very pleased so far.
