Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Antennas Direct DB4 Multi-Directional HDTV AntennaCustomer Review: Excellent product Summary: 4 Stars
When my old antenna finally bit the dust, I decided to try to find one that could mount in the attic. This one did the trick, although the u-bolt legs need to be about an inch longer to accomodate mounting on a 2x4, since no J-bar is included. I managed to get mine mounted anyway, with a "friction fit" on a vertical 2x4 in the attic, and the results have been amazing. I feed mine through the digital tuner on a near-new Panasonic DVD/VCR combo, and all my local digital stations now come through clearly and crisply, including about 8 or 9 feeds that I never got at all before. However, the one local VHF station that has no digital signal remains a bit snowy. I'm about 35 miles from the local towers, and I'd say that for an attic mount, one wouldn't want to be much farther away for analog signals. For digital, who knows? My local digital channels appear to me to be as clear as my satellite feeds.
Customer Review: I had no Idea! Summary: 5 Stars
My wife and I are on a mission to become debt free so one of the things we wanted to do was reduce our monthly expenses and firing the local Cable/Satellite provider was first thing on the list. I read the reviews on this particular antenna and was a little concerned that I might be to far from most transmitting stations 50miles +. Originally I was planning to mount this antenna in the same location as our house outside where the Dish was currently mounted but when I got out there and noticed how low on the house it was I decided to put it up in the highest point of our attic. I am able to pull down so many digital channels and all of them with Highdef pics that are 10x better in quality than I ever had with Cable or Satellite. One of my TV's has a signal meter and it was very easy adjusting the antenna until I got a 97% signal lock. I highly recommend this antenna to anyone!
Customer Review: Very happy with the results Summary: 5 Stars
I am very pleased with the results of this antenna. We live 46 miles from the broadcast towers in Cleveland, OH, and 52 miles from the broadcast towers in Toledo, OH. I mounted the antenna on the roof of our two story house using a J-mount. When I attached the digital converter box to the antenna using 75 feet of cable, the signal strength showed good to excellent on the meter for stations in both cities. Unfortunately, when I had to extend the cable distance to place the TV in our den, the signal strength weakened and some stations were not viewable. I added an in-line booster and the problem was solved. This antenna is very powerful without an in-line booster if you keep your cable lengths to 75 feet or less. Beyond 75 to 100 feet of cable, I would recommend an in-line booster. I now get 20 stations, including Detroit Michigan signals that make it over Lake Erie when the weather is good.
Customer Review: BEST HDTV ANTENNA for HOUSTON TEXAS and maybe other places as well... Summary: 5 Stars
I've tried about ... well a lot of antennas here in Houston. I actually live in 35 minutes north of Houston and channel 8 PBS is IMPOSSIBLE to pick up clearly. After multiple antenna purchases and resells on EBAY, I finally bought the famous DB4. (I actually got it cheaper on EBAY) I set this up in the same place as all of the rest and to my surprise... wait for it.. wait for it... PERFECT CLARITY!!! I get the random digital pixelations on a very rear occasion during a storm, but putting this antenna up has picked up a few extra channels. Most of the extras are in Spanish, but they crack me up with the poor dubbing. If you have the need to learn more about antennas and what's best for you, go to http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/Address.aspx and put your address in. It will show you where all the antennas are in relation to your house and what is the best type of antenna you should buy.
Customer Review: Exceptional Antenna! Summary: 5 Stars
This antenna is GREAT! I live over 60 miles away from NYC tv towers, and am still able to pick them up with this product! It seems as though it doesn't even really matter where you have this product pointed, as it will pick up channels from nearly any direction! Installation was a breeze, taking about 5 minutes to assemble and about 30 minutes to mount/run coaxial cable from the antenna. My only other experience with an antenna was with an indoor model that gave us 2 channels at best. With the DB4, we are enjoying over 30 channels of crystal clear quality, many with HD-quality better than our cable provider was offering! In today's economic climate, who wants to pay for something that is coming over the airwaves free, anyway? Goodbye cable and hello crystal-clear, digital tv for life! I highly recommend this product, as if you couldn't tell, and strongly give it 5 out of 5 stars!!
