Customer Review: Bye Bye Satellite Payment!
Summary: 5 Stars

I could kick myself for waiting so long to get this antenna! I've had an HDTV for over a year - I didn't know I could get my local channels in HD plus a few extras. Now that I also have a laptop I can watch any show I've missed via an HDMI cable right on my TV - I can even watch Monday night football on ESPN. The price for this antenna is very reasonable and it's so easy to set up - I already had the multi switch for the dish which had the antenna connection so I just moved the connection from the receiver right to my TV and wha la - an even better picture than I had with the receiver - and Sunday football is now broadcasting in Dolby Digital 5.1 so my surround system is working too! I may move the antenna into the attic to see if works as well - would be a good thing if I didn't have to have it on my roof - but it really doesn't look that bad. So don't wait any longer - get yourself out of the grasp of those greedy cable and satellight providers...{:-)

Customer Review: Good Antenna
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm in Palo Alto,CA (about 38 miles south of San Francisco),and I bought this on the advice of a co-worker to prepare for the digital transition. I was looking for something to install in the attic. At first the results weren't good, but after moving the antenna as far as I could towards the front of the house, the results were pretty good (there is a 2-story house next door to my 1-story house, and it is in the path of where I needed to aim my antenna). I now get all the stations broadcasting from Sutro Tower except for channel 7. Inexplicably channel 7 went from UHF (this antenna is UHF only) to VHF some months after the transition date. I can receive about 70 channels (if you include the sub-channels). For cheap people (like me), I also built the "coat-hanger" antenna found in You-tube. It looks very much like the DB4 but without the reflectors, and it works almost as well. I have 2 TVs; one runs off the DB4 and one off the "coat hanger" antenna.

Customer Review: No cigar
Summary: 1 Stars

I'm in Mountain View
I was fooling around and saw ghosts on the TV,so I went to Home Depot and
bought a $19 rabbit ear,it made an improvement but worked poorly on top of the TV.I had in my junk box 100' of computer R58 coax, used twist on connectors and put it in line.I got 3 snowy stations. Then we switched to digital and I had to buy a converter box which has a super real time antenna strength meter that displays on the TV.I bought the DB4 hoping to improve the signal strength,it cautions about coax lengths over 25'.Upshot is the rabbit ears have given better reception all along,I have tried the DB4 with a new store bought 15' length of R59 coax,no cigar.Recently I have observed that the random placement of the 100' cable is what is giving me my reception.Picking it up and randomly throwing it on the floor,I was able to increase to 20% strength which gives me 5 strong channels. The DB4 is a nicely constructed gysmo, but did nothing for me.

Customer Review: It Works
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading reviews on this product and doing major research, I didn't know what to expect from this product there were so many conflicting reviews. I purchased anyway cause it had better reviews then the other HD antennas and I could return if it didn't work. I placed the antenna in the basement and pointed it in the right direction to test it out (do a search for proper direction to face your antenna in your area online) it pulled in at least thirty channels no problem. I relocated the antenna to the attic a couple of weeks later still facing the same direction and it pulled in over sixty channels no problem. Not sure why other people were having problems but it probably has to do with the diretion they were facing it. I'm over forty miles from the transmitters and the antenna is rated for fifty miles but only twenty-five miles when located indoors, it looks to be they underrated this antenna to not cuase issues with people buying them.

Customer Review: Best I've seen so far
Summary: 5 Stars

This picks up HD better than the 2 other indoor antennas I have tried. Even when connected indoors and held above my head, most channels were getting 95% whereas my previous indoor antenna I've used for 2 years usually got 78% at best. I did install this on the roof and am using a diplexer to share the line with my satellite feed, and am also using a splitter to send the HD signal to 2 different TVs. With all these connections, I am getting 78% signal again, but it is much more consistent (doesn't drop in and out) than my indoor antenna. For the most part I haven't had any problems getting reception so far (I'm about 40 miles from the towers). NBC is my biggest problem, but I may get a pre-amp to help the signal further.
By the way, my box was missing some mounting hardware. I called Antenna's Direct and they promptly sent me the hardware via UPS without having to verify my purchase from Amazon, which I appreciated.
