I've owned another 3.5 external hard drive enclosure that was plastic resulting in warped screws = I'll never get that 320GB out again. But this Antec 3.5'' is perfect. Not only does it look great but it functions exactly like you think it should. I have a WD 1TB Green drive in it at the moment. The hard drive runs very cool. The build is very solid and the white HD activity light is bright but not too bright (a good thing). Just have a super small + screw driver handy because the screws are super small. Other than that, this thing rocks! Definitely recommend!Customer Review: Highly recommended!

I read all the reviews, mostly positive and deservedly so, but some indicated this thing overheated and they could therefore not give it a good rating. Rediculous. For the price, it is a remarkebly quality product. Solid, sturdy aluminum and well made. I used it for a couple hours and it did not get even warm. For those concerned about overheating, I would suggest drilling some small vent holes in the bottom, putting a fan on it, or just shutting the thing off people!! C'mon!! Regarding the cord, it's no shorter than most. Extention cord much??Customer Review: EXCELLENT REPLACEMENT

I bought a Western Digital mybook. It was a good device. Then it broke. And that sad. True story. so, I got upseta nd tore it to pieces. And, it was built very durable. Was.
So, I bought this cheap little gizmo, and were up and running again. I can't say anything more than that. It works, it's quick. and I can not be happier. Made of sleak metal, keeps it cool. I tipped it over once, it still worked without error. And. it's very cheap.
Buy this and an external hard drive and you'd be all set. And you'd save money.

The Antec MX-100 3.5" USB Aluminum Enclosure for SATA Hard Drives does exactly what it is supposed to do, convert a SATA Hard Drive to a USB connected external Hard Drive.
The unit ships with the case, a stand, screws, instructions, disc (didn't use), power supply, and USB cable. The installation of my Segate 750gb SATA Hard Drive into the case couldn't have been any easier, litteraly taking about 5 minutes start to finish.
This is a solid case and it looks great. Highly Recommended!

The product works, for the most part, as advertised. However, if you turn the device that this is plugged into off and back on, it will not be recognized. You have to unplug the power and wait a few minutes before being able to plug it back in and have it be recognized. This is a major issue when using this with anything that turns on or off a lot, such as a laptop or ps3. This is a waste of money if you want a reliable external enclosure, save your money and buy a better one.
