Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Antec Cyclone Blower Case Fan for Any Expansion Slot

Customer Review: inexpensive and effective
Summary: 5 Stars

My dish network HD DVR sits on top of my Onyko AVR and both generate a lot of heat. I put 2 of these together and use the power out from the Onyko AVR to control on/off. Both now runs very cool and no more thermal shut down anymore. They are quite slim and not obvious at all when put in between the 2 equipments. There is no need to spend a lot of money on expensive cooling gadget. These fans should take care of all your cooling needs. The noise is moderate high but acceptable and does not make any difference once the movie is playing.

Customer Review: good performance short lifetime
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this product in December 2007 and it was working great, I used it for my video card, but after six months of use, it started to make a big noise due to dust accumulation, and the rpms reduced notably. It stopped working after seven months of use. I have a vantec PCI fan in other PC, and have been working for over two years and no problems.

Tried to clean this fan, but it come in a sealed case, so it is not possible. Really did not like this product. Really short lifetime.

Customer Review: Great, quiet.... What's not to love?
Summary: 5 Stars

This fan sucks heat like crazy. At first I thought it was supposed to drawn in cool air, but it doesn't. It fits cleanly in my PC case, and really pulls out the hot air. I'm not a big PC gamer, so there's no GPU card, but whether you have a gaming rig or not, this is a good investment.
My only complaints are when I installed it, I had about half a dozen bloody cuts on my hands. The fan never hit my hands, so I'll assume it is haunted.
=D
Excellent product, excellent price.

Customer Review: It is what it is.
Summary: 4 Stars

I didn't see the kind of temperature drop in my GPU that I wanted. I guess I expected too much. My GPU is running at about 60 degrees Celsius while gaming, so it's not that big a deal. I just wanted a little more.

Anyway, so far it's quiet. And, when I stick my hand behind the case I can tell it does move a good bit of air.

It's not a magic solution to a really hot case, but for the price, I'm hoping it will extend the life of my graphics card. We'll see.

Customer Review: performs well but noisy
Summary: 3 Stars

I'm using this fan in an older dell machine to cool a 7600GS silent card with the ginormous heat sink. I used the card for a day or two without the fan and it got too hot and locked up on me. I haven't had any heat problems since I installed teh fan. It seems to do a good job but it's really noisy. I bought the silent card thinking it would cut down on the fan noise but having to use this fan it ended up being just as noisy as a card-mounted fan.
