Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Antec Cyclone Blower Case Fan for Any Expansion SlotCustomer Review: Cheapest around, and name brand! Summary: 5 Stars
Antec is a name brand, possibly the best in cooling and cases, and this was the cheapest available. So it was perfect. I have this little thing below my wireless card (I have a micro board so no space to put it in between the wireless card and the the GPU without it starving the GPU for air) It does work, dropped the temp in my case by around a degree, I just think its a cool idea to have a designated exhaust fan the channels air directly out. If you have the space, I would definitely recommend this fan, plugs in to a simple four pin connector and just screws right into the case, doesn't even go into the motherboard. When screwed in its extremely stable like part of the case.
Customer Review: Slot cooler for GPU's Summary: 5 Stars
This slot case blower is an effective, low cost solution to extend the life of your GPU or video card that doesn't
have a fan for active cooling, and a heat sink for passive convection cooling. Power is inline from the PSU molex.
Installation is a snap in any case place it in the slot next to your video card heatsink. There should be sufficient clearance unless your heatsink stands tall and extends into the area of the adjacent slot. It does blow a fair amount of air CFM's you will feel it out of the rear of your case, and the heat drawn away from your GPU or video card exhausted out the rear. This will definitely extend the life of your video system! Highly recommended!
Customer Review: Somewhat noisy, but works. Summary: 3 Stars
Installation is a breeze (pun intended). Remove a free expansion slot, and install it. Mine is beneath my Video Card so it pulls hot air from it and takes it outside case.
It lowered my video card temps from at idle by 2 C. Lowered load temps while playing games by 4 C.
It is on the noisy side thats why just 3 stars. I have 2x 80mm fans plus a 92mm CPU fan and this fan is easily the loudest. Not unbearable but noticable. I only use it in when expecting system to be under a load for extended period of time.
The price was right for 10 bucks with free shipping, so for me even with the added noise, it was worth it.
Customer Review: At $[price], this system cooler is a steal Summary: 5 Stars
For those of you who work on your computer for extended hours, this system cooler is for you. Flowing at 42cfm(Cubic Feet per Minute), there is a lot of air to go around, literally! This easy-to-install Cyclone Blower can cool a very decent sized computer case. I have it installed in my full tower case, and this fan can pack a punch against heat! I noticed a drop in temperature by 4 degrees. That's enough to combat deadly heat! I think it is definately worth it to purchase this item and place one in each computer. You can place this sucker right below your video card if you are a gamer(that video card can heat up!).
Customer Review: watch out for bad bearings Summary: 1 Stars
i know all batches of product will have 1 or 2 "bad apples". this was one of them. Ordered this because i used to have a similar unit in an older pc maybe 10 yrs ago. that one was fa-boo! this one, was noisier than a squirrel caught in an exhaust fan for about 5 minutes whenever you would first turn the PC on. annoying as HELL!!
i should have sent this back, instead i sent it to the landfill.
if they bearings are in good shape, its a fabulous product, but if not, holy crap...
as with anything purchased over the internet, buyer beware!
