It doesn't take much to "total" a Mac power adapter, as many have no doubt discovered. The Magsafe design is definitely an improvement over the previous "plug in" versions, but don't for a minute assume you no longer need to carry a spare.
The pictured adapter will, in fact, recharge your Macbook Air, serving in the pinch. But notice that the connector is a "conventional" Macbook-style piece, not the one intended for the Mac Air. The Macbook Air comes with a unique connector that enables the user to rest the machine on a flat surface with the connector attached--a configuration that is not possible if the magnetic component of the connecting piece is at the end of the connector. The Air requires a cylinder-shaped connector with the Magsafe component on top of the connector. A flat connector with the magnet at the end of the piece works only if you use the computer in vertical position.
This one may be 40% less than the one at Apple Store, but I'm surprised Macbook Air owners, of all people, would find it satisfactory. (On the other hand, you can always hope the title is correct but the picture wrong.)
