Customer Review: Good Value For 'Hands Free' Magnifying Glass

For the same price of a medium hand held magnifying glass this is a wonderful improvement. The unit is well constructed, stays in place around my head. I have not yet put in the batteries to use the light feature because I do not care to add any addition weight to my head and since I have access to good lamps in my home I don't need this feature. A good point another reviewer made about leaving these or any other magnifying glass out in the sunlight is one I have remembered and pay close attention to. I don't know how much sun it would take coming through large glass windows to ignite paper with a magnifying glass but I am not going to take any chances of finding that one out. I bought two of these for different areas of my home, they are very handy and cost effective.

This magnifying head set is very nice for the money. A good buy. If the strap was heavy cloth it would even make them better.

I bought these for my mom, who was always an avid reader but has macular degeneration. We were hoping they would allow her to get back to her lifelong passion for books. She says they work quite well and she uses them for things like making out bills, but that they are too heavy to read for long periods.

This magnifier is a very good value with the exception that it doesn't stay put when swiveled up. The cheap hinge doesn't really hold very well. That said, it's still a great value.
