My friend was commenting to me that he doesn't think XM is worth paying for anymore. He said he was bored with the same old music and talk. So...I found this item. I got one for him and for me. All I do is put it in the USB port and music, talk, sports and comedy from all over the world is right there. It is most definitely user friendly, and features all kinds of music from all over the world.
I think this is a lot of fun, and can be used on the computer while I play games, IM, e-mail, etc. I am going to buy a few more and give them as gifts. The only bad part is getting the flash drive out of the bubble package. It was not pretty trying to open the packaging, but if you have sharp scissors and a little patience...you can have a lot of entertainment ahead of you.

I was ordering something else from JR music world and saw this for under $20 so I thought what the heck!! I love internet radio. It turns out that this thing helps you find stations quickly that you would never find in a million years using search engines. The software is easy to follow. Trust me I am an idiot and if I say it is easy, it is easy. I put this on a Windows 7 machine and realized I needed an upgrade. I called support. They answered the phone immediately. They e-mailed me a patch and i was up and running in minutes. How can they afford such great support on such an inexpensive item? This is a fun thing with little cost. Buy one today. Heck buy several for presents. Your friends will love you for it.

I have never been so amazed at the sounds of different music from around the world. So many channels to pick from and no monthly charges. I installed it on Vista and installation was pretty easy - just make sure you turn off your firewall to allow Aluratek to have internet access or add it to your trusted sites. This is a great gift for someone who travels around the world and wants to stay current and up to date with "home" news since there are thousands of talk radio stations as well. It has locked up on me a few times but I can't complain since it is getting information from across the world. This does not happen all the time just during certain times of the day. Figured it is probably due to the radio's internet server being overloaded at a busy time.Customer Review: Doesn't work, but useless anyway

Received this item as a gift. Very thoughtful, but completely useless.
I use Macs exclusively at home, so right off the bat, I'm in trouble as it doesn't support Mac OS. I have two Windows XP computers for work, and tried both. Neither work. One doesn't recognize it at all, the other does, but along with the application starting I get new Explorer windows popping open every 2-3 seconds over top of the app... never saw such behavior before. Can't get to the app due to the Explorer windows, so never got to try it.
The bigger question is why does anyone need this silly thing anyway? iTunes has hundreds of radio stations, so does Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc. [...].

Except for the first two times I plugged it in nothing happened, thought it didn't work to be honest but a couple days later I retried and the radio came right up. It is all it says it is however most of the radio stations seem to be on par with a b movie. This would be great for someone in America to listen to news in their home country but I dont really find any outstanding stations so far. For instance one station for upstate NY and I know of many that do broadcast over the net. It would be great if you could enter stations for them to add into it but I dont see that option. All in all its a fun toy and beats surfing the net to find stations you can look by genre, country or top 10 or do a search.
