Customer Review: Hear the world Summary: 4 StarsI bought this as just something to try. I found it interesting with so many radio stations around the world it is fun listening to all different places and tunes and what other cultures like to listen to. So I bought two of them for Christmas to give my daughters to expand their listening. It has been fun. They work good so far.
Customer Review: It's simple really... Summary: 4 Stars Well, I bought this mainly because I was so pleased with the AIRMM01 and the price was too good to pass up. Sure enough, it didn't work on Windows 7 64-bit. What to do? Email Aluratek support and ask about the situation. Within 24 hours I received a reply directing me to a firmware update. It works just fine how!
For those who say you can find all the stations presented through Google or whatever...true, but given the convenience of this device and again, the current price, this one should not be neglected.
Customer Review: Worthless Summary: 1 StarsBefore you read this review, realize the website RADIOTIME does everything this device claims to do, without the hassle of installation or having to waste a USB port.
That being said, I knew this device did not "do" anything before I bought it. It's basically just an interface that lets you more easily find internet radio stations. All of these radio stations, mind you, can be easily found by either (1) looking them up station-by-station, or (2) using RadioTime to search by location, etcetera.
The problem is that the interface does not work. I have tried to use this device five (5) times (on Windows Vista). It worked once. Every time I plug it into a USB port (even the one time it eventually worked), my computer freaks out and acts like its loading software over and over and over again until I unplug the thing.
This device is a waste of money.
I also do not understand why you need to have this thing plugged into a USB port to use it. The USB device is obviously just a way to transport the software, which allows you to utilize their worthless interface to find things that are already available on the web. However, the manufacturer includes an intrusive mechanism to insure that you cannot use the interface unless the device is physically plugged into your machine.
Save your money. Down with Aluratek.
Customer Review: Not Really Plug and Play!! Summary: 1 StarsBought this product awhile back and just recently installed which in it self was a long process. Maybe just my luck but the one I have just does not work, after finally downloaded you can select a station and it will not open up and there is no sound and on screen the image flashes on and off. Did not bother to return because such a pain getting credit or another one and since priced low just my loss!! I guess buy at your own decision probaly just got a bad one.
