Customer Review: A wonderful product!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this unit because we often spend time in different areas of the house doing things. With the large stereo in the family room it limited us to just being able to have music from the ipod in one spot.

This item is both cordless and corded so no matter where we are we have whatever is on our ipod to listen to.

One thing to note is that it only charges your ipod when it is plugged in and does not charge when in battery mode, the instructions are not very clear about this.

Overall we love this unit. The sound is great and its compact design is wonderful. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an ipod speaker setup. It costs a few dollars more than most of the other units but I feel it is worth it, you really get what you pay for. I listened to the Bose unit before purchasing but to me there is not a major difference in sound unless you are really tuned into slight variations in music reproduction.
Spend a few more dollars and get this unit over the cheaper one but save your $200 and get the Altec Lansing unit over the Bose.

Customer Review: It is a little dynamo...

I'm sure you all know what they say about the size of things. For someone who is not all up on electronic do-dads and thing-ama-jigs. This little box has great sound. It came all nicely wrapped in the original packaging, very shiny and new. If you need directions to operate it, they are really easy to follow as long as you can count the fingers on one hand and solve picture puzzles easily.

Seriously, push a button and the dock pops out and the rear stand pops out with it. Plug it in to charge, add your ipod and away you go.
The remote that comes with the dock is small, but I like that because it fits well in the palm of my hand. Make sure you put the battery for the remote in the right way (no, I did not put it in the wrong way, but it can be easily done). It is rather light and easy to carry which makes for easy portability.

All it all, I think it is worth the price. I have other speakers by Altec Lansing and they still give out great sound so when I saw the reviews about this little thing I was kind of excited.

Hope this helps.

Customer Review: Sound is excellent, dock doesn't support the ipod well
Summary: 3 Stars

Altec Lansing inMotion iM600 Portable Audio System for iPod I purchased this speaker system to use when I teach my cardio dance and yoga classes at a recreation center. The sound remains excellent when the volume is turned up. Unfortunately my ipod Classic consistantly malfunctions either by stopping in the middle of a song or skipping to the next song in the middle of a song. The dock doesn't seem to hold the ipod snuggly so the connection is not complete. I love the size, weight and sound of this speaker system. I just wish the ipod would be reliable when it's used in this system. The advance and rewind buttons & the tiny little remote don't work consistantly either. I have no need for the FM radio or alarm clock, but this was the only portable and affordable system with quality sound boost that fit my needs. The price has already dropped since I purchased this a few weeks ago. It would be nice if it came with a carrying case. I bought a lap top computer case to tote it around.

Wow! I love it. Sent back my Logitech MM-32 to WalMart, did some extensive research, and for the buck, I truly feel I came out way ahead.
I tried to stay in the $50-$60 dollar range, but would waste $$ on batteries in no time. So I feel spending $100 here would give great sound enjoyment and be a better investment. A win win position. I HATE buying batteries.
Pros...FM Radio, rechargable 7hr battery built in, great sound, very stylish and as portable as you desire. The remote is good with 4 FM presets, and works my iPod 60 GB Photo skipping fwd and back unlike some other reviews, it navigates my iPod just fine within a playlist.
Cons...Tuner doesn't pick up some stations my alarm clock does, stations I want, and I live on a hill. Also I'd like to see Altec Lansing use a longer lifed battery. Let's see a travel case too!
The remote needs velcro to keep it close. It slips easily, uses a button battery, but works fine. Don't forget to remove clear protective cover from transmitter eye. It will diminish usuable distance.
I like it and am quite the picky one.

Customer Review: Not the best ones to buy!!!
Summary: 2 Stars

I've been researching Ipod docking stations for quite some time and have read many reviews. After reading the review on the Altech Lansing iM600 speakers, I grabbed my Ipod and rushed to Best Buy to try them out. I'm GLAD I took my Ipod with me because I was disappointed! These speakers are loud but very distorted and muffled once you crank them up to higher volumes. (found this out when I had to compete for sound w/ a 15yr old who was trying to drown me out...Sadly..he WON). I'm not saying these speakers are bad but if you want more bass and clarity don't get them. What I ended up purchasing was the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere speakers. To my shocking surprise...these little speakers ROCK!!! They beat the Altech's hands down and also the Griffins. It comes w/ a 10hr rechargeable battery, remote, and protective travel case. No audio/video jacks on it...only downer. If you want BIG sound with compact casing...these are the way to go...LOGITECH! But, when you do shop, bring your Ipod with you so you can check out the sound quality for yourself.
