I had a very nice 3M model that looked very similar to the Allsop but my toddler tore the fabric covering the gel rest. It was time for a new pad. The Allsop had the built-in wrist rest to go with the pad and at the asking price, what more could I ask for?
As it turns out, the mouse pad itself is very cheap. Think freebie mouse pad from vendors. The only difference is that it has the memory foam wrist rest. The problem with it being of cheap construction and material is that the mouse pad has never really stayed flat around the left and right edges. It curls up because the fabric is so thin and cheap. Also, the memory foam wrist rest is rather hard. Prolonged continuous use caused me a lot of wrist pain. The gel type of wrist rest from 3M supported my wrists significantly better.
The Allsop is cheap in price and construction. I think it's a decent buy for those who don't spend a great deal of time on their PC. But for those that do, your wrists will appreciate a better quality pad.
