Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of USB 2.0 Extension Cable Type A Male to Type A Female 6 ft, BlackCustomer Review: It sort of works... Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this to use as an extension for my phone charger, as well as for other random uses with my computer from time-to-time. The cable must cause a lot of power loss as data is transfered through it. My phone takes 5x as long to charge when this is plugged in to the wall, and if you try to connect an iPod or your phone to your computer, it doesn't even have enough power to keep the device connected.
If you buy this, I would use it for very low power devices.
Customer Review: Seems to not have a steady connection Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this to extend my printer's USB cable. After a few minutes of being plugged in with this cable, my printer kept connecting and then disconnecting from my computer. Sometimes it won't recognize my printer being plugged in at all or says that it is an "unknown device". Mind you, none of this happens when a different cable is used.
Fiddling with the female connection seems to help (bending it to make the contacts snugger).
Customer Review: It's a cheap, working cable of good length for wireless dongle. Summary: 4 Stars
Very pleased. The generic cable itself is of Medium to good quality. Connector fit is snug, not tight so it won't accidentally disengage from PC or attached unit. Length (6') is perfect for what I need it for. I have attached it to a wireless dongle w/antenna and the length allows me to move the unit around for better WIFI reception. It's under the 15' thresh-hold for signal loss, so it meets my needs well. Plus the cost is chump change.
Customer Review: You could also play roulette if you're into chance Summary: 1 Stars
Mine didn't work. You can see from the other reviews its a crap shoot with these. The construction was shoddy and if it had worked I'm not sure how long the female connection end would have stood up to connecting and disconnecting. If you were to just leave it plugged in (and you got one of the ones that worked) you would probably be ok. I'm not bothering to ship mine back for $1.65, but I guess you (usually) get what you pay for.
Customer Review: 3/5 cheap and often useless Summary: 3 Stars
The nice thing about this product was it was cheap, and got to me fast the bad is it is a slow connection. I have been using it in combination with a high speed hub and the two together run in slow motion. At some points this equipment will recognize my external drives and usb devices and other times it wont.
Spite the constant problems I give this product a 3/5 cause its your typical Chinese crap you can get cheap on amazon.
