Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of USB 2.0 Extension Cable Type A Male to Type A Female 6 ft, BlackCustomer Review: For the price, I put up with the glitches Summary: 3 Stars
It got the stars mainly due to price. It works, but you get what you pay for.
The fact that USB extension cords in general have given my workspace much more flexibility is wonderful perhaps needs to separated from this review. Next time will probably splurge a few bucks more for one with more consistent functionality.
I bought two. One for the keyboard, one for mouse. The one for the keyboard kept losing the connection despite double and triple checks that things were in fact connected. I would randomly hear the 'ding' you get when you unplug/plug something from the USB slots. It really puts a cramp in your writing style if your keyboard disconnects every few minutes. The disconnection glitch lasts a second, sometimes more. That I could tolerate on the mouse since I don't use it very often. So I selected the best of the two for my mouse and ended up putting the keyboard back on a direct connection. It's been a couple of months and maybe the cord has warmed up or something. I still get a rare, second long stop in function, but the connect/disconnect problem hasn't happened in for a few weeks.
Customer Review: Does what it advertises Summary: 5 Stars
Needed a USB extension cable for my Flip Camera, and did not want to pay the 15 dollars+ charge for their branded cables. This was a much cheaper option, and seems to be working fine with my Flip. The cable quality seems to be okay, but who knows what'll happen over time with usage. I experienced no problems with connecting it to the computer and the camera, and the computer recgonized it [the camera] quickly.
The transfer rate speed does appear to be a bit slower than if I had the camera plugged into the computer directly, but that's okay, because this is much more easier to use than trying to get the Flip to both connect to, and stay connected to my laptop's USB plug.
The seller was quick & efficient, and I would not hesistate using them again should the need arise.
Customer Review: Very durable Summary: 5 Stars
For a 2 dollar cable you wouldn't expect much quality, you'd be wrong.
This cable is quite thick and seems very durable, been using it for a week or two and loving it. I use it as an extender for a wired rockband guitar on the Xbox360 and it works great for that. I also use it as an extender for my phone charger, carries the current very well. I see some bad reviews for this product and I don't know where they are coming from, there isn't much that can go wrong with a usb extender its just wire, and the material this extender is made of is extremely high quality.
6 Feet is longer than you think, so if you need an extender I would definitely consider this one.
Customer Review: Great Product, Very Happy Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very simple product, it simply extends the length of a USB cable.
I am using it to move a iPod dock further away from my computer. It allows me to place the dock on my desk where I want and wire it up to the computer.
The product is extremely simple and like most simple products does its job very well. It is of great quality, exactly the same quality of far more expensive cables. I remember the day I would have payed $20 for this at a Best Buy, but now I know better.
The price for this cable was great and I am very happy with my purchase. Would definitely buy this product again if I ever need to extend the length of a USB cable again.
Customer Review: Cheap and Functional Summary: 5 Stars
I needed an USB extender for my printer so I bought this. Considering it was listed as one cent and $3 after shipping, I had my reservations but decided to take the chance. Now I'm glad I made the low risk, high reward purchase. It works great. I'm not sure how well it would work for a hard drive or something that needs to be supplied with power from the USB. The printer I use has it's own AC adapter so if you're using it for something without an external power supply, there's an added risk. But in all, it'll set you back $3 and I'm sure there is some way you could find a use for it.
