Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of AT&T 1855 Corded Telephone with Digital Answering System and SpeakerphoneCustomer Review: good voice quality, one missing feature Summary: 4 Stars
After my old Panasonic speaker phone died (from spilling a beer on the keys), I bought one locally. I ended up returning it because the speaker volume was too low. The reviews for this one looked good, so I bought one.
The speaker volume for this phone is more than adequate, and the mic is sensative enough that I can use the phone from 4 or 5 feet away. I find the caller ID very useful. My only wish is that there was a hold button. The panasonic had that, and it was very useful for times when I needed to go to a different floor to pass a call on to someone else in my family.
Customer Review: Good corded phone/ ans. machine Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this phone for my mother to replace her older AT&T corded phone w/ ans. machine. She lives in a small town that doesn't offer voicemail and this is the perfect solution. The phone works great, good volume, and easy to set up. I like her to have a corded phone along with her cordless in case the power goes out....this makes a phone always available and another plus is that you always know where the phone is, not like a cordless that goes where you go and sometimes stays there even if you don't. All in all, she tells me she loves it and the voice quality is superb.
Customer Review: Everything you need plus more Summary: 4 Stars
This phone answering system was very easy to setup and the sound is crystal clear. There are more bells and whistles than the average person would need and that makes the features menu a bit tedious. Also, the display and keypad really should be backlit. I hesitated to buy it because of the color. But it is not a stark white, rather a soft misty white. The handset cord is a little too short for a wall mount, so the speakerphone will come in handy. Overall, a very good product for the money. It can't be beat for sound clarity. Buy with confidence.
Customer Review: Bad Buttons Summary: 1 Stars
I've owned two of these phones. On the first one, the speaker phone mic stopped working, and I returned it. I also noticed the buttons were kinda sticky. I exchanged it for a new one, and the speaker phone worked fine. The buttons on the second one were sticky too, and I thought they would work better over time. I was wrong. The buttons got so sticky the phone became useless. I could no longer dial a number, as the buttons would stick in the pressed position, and enter the number several times. I lost the receipt, so this second phone went in the trash.
Customer Review: This phone has it all! Summary: 5 Stars
I actually needed only a wall phone for the kitchen than also had caller ID. This unit has an answering system as well, so I got rid of my 20-year old answering machine to boot. Having a speakerphone system is perfect for handsfree duties in the kitchen and the volume control goes pretty high. The instruction book is well written and easy to follow - I had to refer to it once to determine how to call in remotely to pick up my messages. It's very easy to change set paramters such as the outgoing message or number of rings as well. Good buy.
