I had a CPL filter stuck to a U/V filter, both 58 mm. These wrenches could not properly clamp onto either filter for a number of reasons, mainly because they're quite flimsy. Accidentally dropped the filters on the kitchen counter, which is what loosened them up so I could remove the CPL filter. I tried it again just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Dropping the filters on the kitchen counter works better than these wrenches. Definitely not recommended.
Now, if you have a filter stuck to the lens, the dropping trick is a bad idea.
