Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of A-DATA Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card

Customer Review: Great, but size comes with a cost
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great product for my Mini 9, as it sits inside the case and doubles my storage.
The size does come with a penalty. The drive is Very fast reading all types of files, but writing many small files has a limit in windows drivers that slows it considerably. It came formatted as FAT32, but i formatted it as NTFS to obtain the ability to copy files larger than 4gb, but this compounded the problem. Switched back to Fat32 and the write speeds are acceptable. Large file transfer (VOB files @~1gb per file) are Very fast, and would suggest if you are copying many small files (>10mb) to zip them first.

Customer Review: Works great (tested with Canon VIXIA HF100 and Nikon D40x).
Summary: 5 Stars

Not much to say about this card, except that the card was well-packaged, offers the capacity advertised, and works in the two devices I tested: the Canon VIXIA HF100 and the Nikon D40x.

The truth is that I rarely take out and handle my SDHC cards since I hook up the camera via USB to my Mac ... so this helped to overcome the skepticism I had given the low price and "off-brand" name.

Customer Review: JamStreet Productions
Summary: 5 Stars

I received my A-DATA 16 GB SDHC card, and it works excellent with my Panasonic HDC-SD9 High Definition Camcorder. At the highest quality, I can get a little over 2 hours of High Definition video. The recording and playback works fine, and it does what it's supposed to do, for a very good price. I didn't format it, as it's already formatted, so I won't take a chance and possibly mess it up, but you never know, it might still work if I were to format it. But I won't, I have to do a Wedding soon, so I will wait till after the Wedding is done.
It's worth getting.
Derek.

Customer Review: Yet Another Example of Card Failure
Summary: 1 Stars

It was only after my card failed after two uses (losing 10 gb of unique image data) that I started doing searches and found out that this card has an extremely high rate of failure. I've owned 5 SDHC cards and none of them have failed before - however, it appears quite common for these cards to fail unrecoverably (cannot format, cannot recover data). I think the memory controller must go bad, or the memory chip. Either way, I'd recommend looking somewhere else. Even though it has a lifetime warranty, you don't want to lose your data and/or have to send it in to be replaced.

Customer Review: Excellent card with fair OS support
Summary: 4 Stars

So far so good...have tested on my N800, Kodak V1233 720p video camera, Toughbook 52 (XP SP3) and TX1400 TabletPC (Vista). I didn't rate it 5 stars only because I haven't tested the card for long and haven't maxed it out yet....plus it doesn't work on my primary computer a ST5111 TabletPC (XP SP3). I don't blame the card manuf...rather Microsoft for this problem.

Update: I downloaded Fujitsu SD reader patch for my ST5111 and it works there now too! Therefore I would give this 5 stars. Works with all my stuff.
