Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Acomdata Tango USB 2.0/eSATA 2.5-Inch SATA Hard Drive Enclosure TNGXXXUSE-BLU (Blue)

Customer Review: Great product. It could be slightly more user-friendly though.
Summary: 4 Stars

The product itself is great. It comes with everything listed on the site and it feels sturdy and reliable. The instruction manual is pretty lacking however. I had to look up online how to actually get my computer to recognize the drive because it didn't automatically pop up when I was installing it. I'm using a Windows XP computer though so maybe newer computers would work better. Overall though the drive is excellent! I just wish the installation was really as easy as described.

Customer Review: You get what you pay for..
Summary: 2 Stars

I didnt pay much for this enclosure and I am glad I didn't.

The esata port is incredibly hard to use due to it not being aligned properly and it takes quite a bit of time and effort to get the cable to seat properly.the front and back panel are plastic and on mine the plastic that covers the LED wiggles and rattles.

Other then the shoddy craftsmanship this enclosure works fine with the provided USB cable and is deffinatly worth $20(but that's about it).

Customer Review: Good build quality, lousy documentation
Summary: 2 Stars

Nice looking product, nice aluminum construction.

Drive is not recognized on either a Vista or XP machine. Have already played with device manager and updated the driver for my brand new WD 320G Scorpio Hardrive.

I have invested about as much times as I am willing to for a $20 product, and I have to say that this product's support online and the printed documentation that it comes with are both lousy.

Two stars for pretty $20 paperweight.

Customer Review: One of the better build HD enclosure
Summary: 5 Stars

This enclosure does not feel flimsy, unlike a lot of others out there. Like one reviewer said, it has a full PCB for your hard drive to screw on, so it's definitely much more solid and stable; however, the PCB rattles a little bit on the tracks, which I think should not matter. Seems to be fairly high quality, not cheaply made. Manual is not correct but you really don't need it.

I got the blue one and it is not as neon blue as shown on the amazon photos.

Customer Review: Make use of that old laptop drive
Summary: 5 Stars

100 gigs was constantly filling up on my laptop, so I replaced that drive with a 500 gig one. What to do with the old drive? Put it into an enclosure, and I have backup of the files I need when I travel. I can even boot up from this drive. The enclosure looks good, although it does feel a bit cheaply constructed. But to be fair, it should because it costs so little. I haven't had it long enough to comment on its durability, but so far, I'm pretty happy with it.
