The AccuSharp Knife Sharpener works much better than I expected it to for the relatively low price we paid. This is a very simple gadget that is very easy to use and puts a very fine edge on almost any blade.
Using the sharpener is easy but be sure to read the directions on the back of the package. You start by placing the knife on a counter, with about 1/2" hanging over the side and then run the sharpener gently over the blade two or three times (the plastic guard protects your fingers). I noticed that on some of my knives I had to do it 6 or so times before the edge took, likely because the knife edge was originally at a different angle. I like that the tungsten carbide sharpeners can be reversed when the original side wears down and replacement sharpeners are also available AccuSharp 3036-2024 Knife Sharpener Replacement Blades.
It is great having all of my household knives sharp again, and it took far less time to do all of the kitchen knives than it took to write this review.
