Customer Review: Useful for long trips

First time I purchased something like this. Up to now, I've been having my kids hold my laptop in their lap and sit close together to watch. That does not work well for long trips -- the kids start fighting, lap get too hot, not safe, etc.
This case is light and portable. I got chance to test it a week after receiving it (went on a long trip, 5hrs drive each way). I have a 10.1" ASUS netbook. Fit pretty well, except that the flaps is not long enough. What I mean is that the case does not open all the way so that the netbook can be open at 90 degree angle or wider. The widest I can get was around 80 degree. So I have to strap the case to the back of the front seats in such a way that it tilted back so the screen is vertical (instead of facing down). But that mean the keyboard tilted up, partially blocking the bottom of the screen (ugh!).
Other than that though, it works well. Kept the kids quiet, no fighting, no complaining about hot lap :-) and the wife feel safer about the netbook not flying around. The straps work well, I can cinch it tight so the case does not fly around, and it got the kids' approval.
Last note. The vendor was very helpful in trying to help resolve the issue of case not opening up to 90 degree. Great customer service.
Customer Review: Difficult To Install Between Seats

I purchased this because it was the only case that you could install between the two front seats. I have three small children that all need to see the player so I was excited to see this product. When I got the case I was happy with the quality of the material, zippers and the available storage for additional components. My husband (a mechanic) installed it and it was a challenge to install properly. I drive a 2007 Honda Odyssey. We had to use zip ties through the rings on the sides of the case and zip tie them to the zippers on the back storage pockets of my front seats in order for the case to hang properly and securely. It would have hung forward and down(somewhat closing)and made it difficult for the children to see if we hand not. You could try to use velcro strips in the same way which would still allow you to easily remove the case when you need to. If you are handy and can make some creative adjustments this may be the case for you, just don't count on it hanging like it does in the picture without doing so. I am not sure I would recommend this case to anyone wanting to install it between seats. I would suggest using a regular case and setting on the center console. At one point I just set the case on a duffel bag and propped it up and the kids could see it just fine.Customer Review: Very well designed but watch the size

This bag is very well built, a great value for the price asked, and I returned it right away.
The description says, "all of the latest 7-10+" Players fit great." We just bought a Sony DVP-FX750 7-Inch Portable DVD Player and it fits great about the same way as a ping pong ball fits great inside a dumpster.
I'm sure the manuracturer sized it to provide more than ample room for some of the very large portable players. For our smaller (yet latest 7" player) the tie-down wouldn't hold the player securly, it sits so deep in the case that seeing the controls is difficult, and it's a *much* larger bag than would be needed.
If you're looking for something to hold a larger sized portable DVD player or netbook then this would do the trick. If you want it to hold something more compact then you might want to look elsewhere. (We ended up getting the Caselogic PDVS-4 7-Inch In-Car DVD Player Case (Black) which fits our Sony 7" player very well.)
Customer Review: Bad design and NOT for regular sized cars

I bought this DVD holder for playing my Sony 9inch DVP-FX930 in my 2005 Hundyai Sonata. The case itself is a disppointment. It doesn't hold the DVD player well, the bottom portion of the case being a bit too small for a 9inch player. The back portion of the case does not have enough support for the DVD screen, so it tends to list downward, making it more difficult to see the screen. The straps are also too long, even adjusted to their shortest length.
It is obvious that this case was made to be installed in large vehicles, and it might be perfectly fine in an SUV, but my headrest is too small and the straps constantly slip off of it. There isn't even enough room between the seats to consider strapping it in that way. Not that this is the manufacturer's fault, but it should be mentioned.
It's frustrating that I have a great portable DVD player and no one seems to make a descent DVD holder for a responsibly sized vehicle.
Having spent $30 ($25 + shipping), I definitely feel ripped off. I'm going to keep it for no other reason than that every other case I've seen gets horrible amazon reviews as well.
Customer Review: good little DVD case

We travel via the car quite often with two little ones (5 and 2 years). As we often need a break - and so do they - we bought this to hold a rather nice DVD player that we bought for our trips. We only have one, as we discovered that cheaper wasn't better and put a lot of money into one good one, and we needed a safe location for it. This DVD case does the trick. PROS: It keeps the DVD player stable but allows for easy viewing for both girls. CONS: It is a bit tricky to install, however, between figuring out the directions and then finding the best configuration that works for the car's layout. In addition, it is definitely not for 2-door cars where the seats may need to be adjusted. We used it in our 2-door SUV, and as you have to pop the seats forward to get the kids out, it wreaked havoc with the case's configuration. Eventually, we had to have the oldest hold the DVD player for the both of them and just take the case out, as the readjustment caused all the straps to get completely boggled.
Overall, we are happy with this purchase and would recommend it to others.
