Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of AT&T 210 Corded Phone, Black, 1 HandsetCustomer Review: Very basic, but very good. Summary: 5 Stars
Okay, so you've got your four-line, 2.4GHz Digital Spread Spectrum cordless phone with 100-number memory and built-in answering machine. And then the power goes out. Or you loose the handset in the couch cushions. Or you forget to charge it. Or you can't even figure out how to turn the darned thing ON. That's what the Trimline is for. It's a cheap, reliable, easy backup phone. The adjustable volume makes this thing really loud, and the backlit keypad is a feature somehow missing in my expensive cordless. And I like having a phone that's tethered, so I always know where to go when it rings. The memory works, but I don't think the people who buy a phone like this will use it much (I have only one number in mine, plus the emergency numbers.)
Customer Review: Functional, No Frills & Good Price Summary: 4 Stars
This is as simple and straightforward as a single line phone with a Caller ID display I have found, the price I paid for this is 1/3 of what I found on a web site specializing in telephones. The only quibble is the placement of the "Flash" button, if you grip the handset above the lower third of the handset, you will inadvertently cut off your calls by putting pressure on the "Flash" button. This phone could be improved by making the buttons on the back of the handset smaller, and leaving more "real estate" for large hands to grip it. Customer Review: Yes, you need a regular phone Summary: 4 Stars
For a very small investment, I'd recommend getting this phone to keep in touch with the world when our ubiquitous "fancy" technologies fail. We keep this phone connected to a jack in our office next to our desk where it's handy for everyday and it always works, regardless of power failures. You may think you have a real back-up to your cell phone if you have a land line, but remember that portable phones require electricity to work. I particularly chose this phone cause it doesn't have Caller ID (which requires batteries that need replacing) and the previous A T & T Trimline phone we had lasted over 10 years. We consider it part of our emergency preparedness.
Customer Review: Great little corded phone! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a magnificent little phone for the price. The sound is crystal clear. This phone is simply made and doesn't have a lot of complicated features that can make it difficult to use or tear up. This is just a standard old reliable phone. I also like the classic design. Everyone needs at least one corded phone because cordless phones do not work during a power failure. This AT&T 210 is an excellent choice for a corded phone. The lighted keypad is also a plus. I keep this phone in my bedroom, and it's so handy for waking up in the night and needing to make a call. I would definitely recommend this phone for any household.
Customer Review: Superb Phone That Works When Power is Out Summary: 5 Stars
This is the AT&T classic princess phone model that was marketed as an extension phone for teenagers up to 1984. At that time "The Consent Decree" (Justice Department) forced AT&T out of the local phone markets and broke up their equipment monopoly. But these phones have hung around since they provide dynamite voice quality and reliability. They are rugged. And in this era of unreliable utility power service, this phone will work when the electricity is off! Your fancy wireless and electronic phones won't. For the price, keep a couple in the house and awe your neighbors with your telecommunications savvy when the power is out.
