I use APC equipment exclusively where I work. We tried some other brands and they just did not work as well. Not sure how APC's recent 2008 sale to Schneider Electric (a French Company) will impact the quality, but hopefully it will not. This model is perfect for home use because it is just the right size for under your desk and it also has some features you normally only see in higher end models. The best feature is the power control to things like speakers, printers, scanners, etc can be set to turn off when your computer sleeps or hibernates. Works well, but I had to follow the instructions to tweak it a little. All in all a great UPS.Customer Review: Great power backup/surge protector

I got this free as a replacement of an old APC backup that failed. Props to APC for shipping me this asap, pretty much no questions asked. Anyway, I have had this strip for about two years now, and have had absolutely zero problems. The power save sockets are a nice feature, except there are only three, and they are for small plug-ins. The power back-up works flawless, and I would recommend this to anyone, despite it being a little expensive. It is worth the investment; if something goes wrong, which it shouldn't, APC is a very upstanding company that stands both by their product, and your valuable hardware attached to it. Not long after I bought my UPS I had a power outage. The computer kept running unphased. The only thing I had to do was unplug the monitor from the slave outlet and into the backup outlet so I could see the monitor to shut down the computer. The UPS kept a log of the outage. In fact, it showed that the power had come on and gone back off four times. This would have played havoc with the computer if it had been plugged into the wall directly. This UPS is a real life saver. The only improvement I could recommend is having a backed up outlet that is also a slave outlet. The monitor is the only device that needs this.Customer Review: Very satisfied

Let me start by saying that this is not my first APC product. This is about my 5th. Have I had problems in the past? Yes but APC took care of the issues quickly and efficiently. I had high hope for this product as well. I've been using the BE750G for about 2 month and so far the product is working perfectly. Others have reported USB communication issues but I have had zero issues under XP Pro. I really like the optional ability to have the UPS power down some of the "unswitched" surge-protected outlets when the computer powers down. I ordered this product at 2:00AM December 10 from Amazon. I picked it up after work at my P O Box Dec 11th. What a nice surprise!
This is a great product and the importance of this item to any type of electronics is often under stated. The 750G tells me how much voltage is currently coming in and how much is being used. It also draws less power from the grid! which reduces my electric bill. And serves as a voltage regulator because it allows me to set the above and below cut off voltages. Not to mention protect my entertainment system. Everyone needs one of these!
