Customer Review: The 750v 120 Back-up and surge protecter.

I bought two of these at one time. One for my new computer and another for my HDTV system. It brings great peace of mind and removes a lot of trouble as when there is a surge with the cable TV it sets all shows to "To Be Announced" for all channels. That problem is now gone which I still had with a $100.00 Power Max surge protector. The price was about $20 less than Best Buy where I first saw them. The most important thing I can say is that it brings peace of mind and wish I had bought them a long time ago. If you don't have one you are at the mercy of every power surge and short power outage there is. This product is worth the money and then some. Good systems cost us thousands today and it is silly to not go the extra step and get the protection you really need!Customer Review: Great Product, Love the Master Outlet

Since the Sony PS3 has no automatic power-off function and my family has a bad habit of leaving the PS3 power turned on I decided to give this a try. It works exactly as advertised. I replaced a UPS and a Monster power-strip with this UPS. The TV is the Master and the PS3 is on a master controlled outlet. Now, when the TV is turned off, so is the PS3, hooray! I figure the break-even point is about 11 months based on how much electricity the PS3 consumes. I also have a D-Link switch and a Tivo Series 3 on battery backup with this device.
The only thing I would want to improve is to be able to have the master and master controlled outlets function on the battery as well... but otherwise, this does exactly what I want and it still ranks 5 stars for me.

This is my second APC 450 watt battery backup purchase. I am still using the first one for my computer, the new one is for my audio/video equipment (52" Samsung LCD, cable/DVR, cable modem) I didn't have to connect the battery on the first one, must be a new safety feature, but I found it quiet difficult to do because the battery was heavy and hard to pull out enough and the wire is very stiff and hard to get into place. But once that task was done, the rest was easy. I did a quick power fail test (pull the plug) and it worked great. The outlets seem to be built better than the old model, all the plugs fit snugly whereas the older model has issues with plugs easily falling out. I turned off the master/slave feature since I don't need it.

We have been using APC UPS home office systems for a very long time and have always been happy with the products and the service and support. No exception here. APC BACK-UPS ES BE750G 10-Outlet 750VA 120V UPS System. I didn't seem to have the difficulty that others seem to have connecting and installing the battery. While I didn't have any questions about this new UPS I did have a couple questions about the one it was replacing. I used their email support and got rapid and useful technical answers that will help me extend the usefulness of the old UPS to other protection duties. The software came with it, APC PowerChute Personal Edition v2.0, does not have the function that allows me to execute a command before shutdown itself. I have another Tripplite UPS with PowwerAlert software. I can make another PC to use the other outlet of same UPS, and then define at, for example, 2 mins to shutdown remote (the other) computer, and then at 3 mins to shutdown itself. It is an important and convenient function, so I can have other PC(s) sharing same UPS, just cannot figure out it is not offered at APC PE version. Some other functions are missing in this PE version too, such as sending email for different events. The UPS itself may be ok, but the software is very so so.
