This surge protector came with an extra coaxial cable, cat5 cable, and telephone cable to make everything easier. I tested internet speeds many times through the surge protector and found no loss in overall speed or ping. There was also no loss in voice clarity when running the telephone line through it, like i've had happen with other brands of surge protectors that came with this feature. The outlets have a distinct click when plugging something in that seems to really hold the plug in there very well. This Surge protector is exactly what you need! APC stands behind their products with an easy to deal with customer service group. In our situation, this one protector replaced 3 others we were using. The fact that it combines all the major ways of connecting your equipment in one device is what sold me. The fact that half of the outlets are sized for transformers is even better. Where we have been through 3 cable modems, 2 vonage boxes, and 3 wireless routers with our old setup, this new protector has offered us a worry free summer in Florida's lighting an surge prone environment.Customer Review: Very well designed and effective units!

Living in the land of thunderstorms, hurricanes and power surges we have invested in several different brands of APC surge protectors. This one is laid out perfectly with plenty of room for those big headed plugs that come with half your electronic itms and also accommodates cable, ethernet and phone plugs! With 3400 Joules of surge protection these units are a great buy for the money and provide us with a lot of peace of mind as we live in Florida where electrical surges, lightening strikes and outages are common events!

The surge protector is exactly as pictured. The longer power cord is a great asset and allows better positioning of the strip. Outlets are well positioned and thought out to allow maximum use of space but still have adequate room for transformers. I did not use the coax or cat 10/100 connections so do not know if the attenuate signal or not. Master power switch is protected from accidental switching but still accessible. Technical specifications provide adequate protection for sensitive electronic equipment.Customer Review: APC over Mon$ter any day of the week!

There are basic concepts / technologies that make a surge protector's protection either GOOD, BETTER, or BEST. APC's 3400J Surge Protector is easily in the BEST category at about 50% below the price of a comparable Mon$ter surge protector. I've been using APC products for over a decade and have NEVER been disappointed in the quality design both inside and out. If you do your homework on surge protectors, you'll quickly realize the specs on the 3400 are outstanding, and the price is spot-on!
