I bought this recently, and always had problems keeping the batteries in. I had to hold the cap on the whole time for it not to turn off. The sensor also lasted much less than 500 tests. I have had the monitor about 6 months and used it less than 100 times, and now it wonk work until I replace the sensor. It was a lot of money for poor quality, but it did seem to measure alcohol level consistently

The AlcoMate Prestige (AL-6000) is a hand held, portable breath alcohol tester designed to check the subject's breath alcohol concentration with reliable accuracy. This is the newest portable breathalyzer from AK Solutions. It offers the latest in cutting-edge breath alcohol sensing technology as well as powerful and convenient features not available in any other product. This product is recommended for personal use, law enforcement and corporate settings. The AlcoMate Prestige has a 5.5 second blow time vs. the Al-5000's 4.5 second blow time. Because of this the AlcoMate Prestige is the most accurate tester and is DOT and NHTSA approved, as well as FDA Certified! Unlike the AL-5000, the AlcoMate Prestige also features normal mode and fast mode which allows the user to use it with or without a mouthpiece.
