UPDATE- The seller (Henk) contacted me and graciously sent me complimentary batteries. This is a very honorable thing to do.
I raised rating to 3 pending my use of the product.
A bad product that stopped working for me. This battery worked twice -- then died.
I contacted the manufacturer -- he (Henk Van Ess) diagnosed the battery problem (via e-mail) and said he would send me a replacement. He asked me to send him the bad battery I had -- which I did -- then he stopped responding. A waste of time & money -- kinda disappointing when someone treats you shabbily and doesn't honor the warranty. So, no support, warranty not honored. Yikes.
I also bought the Kensington Battery Pack and Charger for iPod -- at the same time -- it's different -- larger -- but has worked great. I have used it about a dozen times and no problems.
Too bad about the 3GJuice -- I now need a small battery similar to it.
!!Found a good replacement -- haven't used it yet (it came in 2 days) -- will report back on how great it is -- 1/3 the price of the the 3GJuice:

Since the iphone is the best phone it also uses a lot of power if you use it as you are supposed to use it. 3GJuice is a lifesaver. It is always here if i need some juice. Will buy three more for my family.

The CEO of 3G Juice has contacted me personally and is aware of manufacturing issues and offered to remedy my problem. I am therefore changing my review as I believe customer service is the most important aspect of a sale on the internet. I really appreciate the efforts. I got one for my son and his worked fine right out of the box. Obviously I just got a bad one. Customer Review: A good external battery, an excellent company.

If you don't like to gage how much you can use your phone based on how much battery life you have then this is a one of the better products out there. That being said, there are 3 things that keep it from being rate with five stars. First: If it could charge in less time. I mean my phone has never been charged and then run out and the 3Gjuice wasn't charged, but if they could cut it down to 2.5-2hours that would be sweet. Second: Though not very big, it is still something sticking out from the bottom on the phone. If it could be made smaller that would be cool too. Third: if there was some sort of battery gage beyond all or nothing. There have been a couple times where each one of those concerns became issues. Another plus, the company if very helpful if you have any questions or concerns, the CEO answers himself via email in less the 24 hours. It is probably a small company, but it is still a good gesture. Overall this is a good solution to the iphones inability to swap out batteries. Customer Review: Simply Awesome

I had a Mophie Battery Pack which stopped working before getting the 3GJuice. I like the 3GJuice a lot better. It's smaller and lighter and the build seems to be more solid.
The Mophie wrapped around the iPhone like a case while the 3GJuice hangs off the bottom. I thought I would like that feature but it sort of just made it annoying. I mostly use this charger for emergency purposes so I don't mind that it hangs off the bottom. It's not super solid but fairly secure.
I also like that it charges fast. It seems to charge about as fast as when my iPhone is connected to my computer, which means I don't need to leave it on for long.
